Anodizing
This electro-chemical process utilizes oxide coating on aluminum substrate. This coating method becomes part of the substrate and rises both above and below original surface. Aluminum Oxide creates an element that is the third hardest element available in manufacturing and is greatly influenced by the choice of electrolyte and temperature chosen. It is a porous coating in nature. When you close the pores this process is known as sealing. If you wish to change color, the pores are filled with an organic dye or metal to reflect light thereby creating a coloring effect. Meets Mil-Spec requirements. Uses include tank parts, robotic parts, ship parts, munitions and a host of many other aluminum parts.
